Sapienza University and Chilean Air Force Collaborate on NyxSat Nanosatellite

Sapienza University of Rome is partnering with the Chilean Air Force to develop the NyxSat 3U CubeSat nanosatellite, scheduled for delivery in March 2026. Weighing approximately 4 kg, the satellite will feature an optical payload for monitoring light pollution and a deployable solar panel created in collaboration with Italian startup Astradyne. The project includes assembly, integration, and testing by Chilean technicians, following a 2024 agreement for the training of officers and technicians.
