Saxony Launches SAX-QT Network for Quantum Technologies with €3 Million EU Funding
The SAX-QT network, named 'Quantum Saxony', is launched to enhance Saxony's capabilities in quantum computing, sensing, and materials. Coordinated by Zittau/Görlitz University, Fraunhofer IPMS, and Leibniz IFW Dresden, the network aims to accelerate the transfer of research into industrial applications.
Supported by €3 million in ERDF funding from the EU and Saxony until 2027, the initiative seeks to establish a sustainable structure for visibility and integration with European pilot lines. The official launch event is scheduled for 17 December 2025, where Saxon State Minister for Science Sebastian Gemkow highlighted the strategic importance of quantum technologies in Saxony's research agenda. The network also focuses on developing a skilled workforce through education and training programs.
