Scotland Allocates £1M to Carbon Removers for Whisky Sector Carbon Capture Expansion
BIOPOWERBIOFUELSCARBON CAPTURE
Scotland's South of Scotland Enterprise has invested £1 million in Carbon Removers to enhance its modular carbon capture technology, aiming to remove up to 1 million tons of CO2 annually by 2030. The Nimmons900 system will be deployed at various industrial sites, with a partnership facilitating the underground storage of 300,000 tons of captured CO2. This initiative supports Scotland's goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2045, particularly benefiting the agriculture, whisky, and bioenergy sectors.
