SEATOM Selected for NATO's DIANA Accelerator Program with Affordable Nuclear Micro-Reactor
SEATOM, a Finnish startup specializing in nuclear vessels, has been selected for the 2026 Challenge Program of NATO’s Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA). The company’s modular nuclear micro-reactor, designed for marine and extreme environments, was chosen under the Operations in Extreme Environments Challenge.
Over the next six months, SEATOM will participate in the DIANA core program, collaborating with the DualTech accelerator in Turin, Italy, while engaging with DIANA's network of experts and testing centers. The program provides access to world-class testing facilities and defense market expertise.
SEATOM will receive an initial contractual funding of €100,000 and may access additional funding for testing, evaluation, validation, and verification (TEVV) activities. This initiative aims to enhance SEATOM’s technological readiness and strengthen its defense and dual-use offerings.
