NATURAL GAS

Senegal has initiated a national project to cut methane and short-lived climate pollutants, which represent a third of its greenhouse gas emissions. In partnership with the Climate & Clean Air Coalition, the government aims to develop a comprehensive SLCP Plan and National Methane Mitigation Roadmap, targeting a 30% reduction in methane emissions by 2030. The initiative focuses on improving public health, energy efficiency, and economic resilience, while aligning with Senegal's updated Nationally Determined Contribution under the Paris Agreement.
