Shell and Exxon Mobil have halted the sale of their natural gas assets in the Southern North Sea to Viaro Energy due to unmet conditions. The deal, which included 11 gas fields and the Bacton Terminal and was agreed upon in July 2024, will not proceed despite being funded, with Shell retaining operational control of the assets.
