Shell PLC, through Shell Nigeria Gas Ltd (SNG), has signed an agreement to supply natural gas to SG Industrial FZE, a steel company in the Guandong industrial zone. This agreement expands SNG's client base, which now includes over 150 clients across Abia, Bayelsa, Ogun, and Rivers states, although contract volume and value were not disclosed.

Shell is also developing the HI field, projected to supply up to 350 million standard cubic feet of gas daily to Nigeria LNG, as part of a joint venture where Shell holds 40 percent. The HI project aligns with Shell's strategy to increase its LNG volumes by 4-5 percent annually until 2030 and aims to enhance gas distribution capacity in Nigeria. The HI field, discovered in 1985, is located 50 kilometers offshore and contains an estimated 285 million barrels of oil equivalent.
