Shivanasamudra Hydroelectric Power Plant Undergoes Major Turbine Overhaul by KPCL

The historic Shivanasamudra Hydroelectric Power Plant in Mandya district is refurbishing its 124-year-old turbines to enhance power generation. Established in 1900, the plant has 10 turbines with a capacity of 42 MW and aims for an annual output of 225 million units. The phased renovation, contracted to ANDRITZ, is set for completion by the end of 2026 with an expected cost of Rs. 103 crore.
