Sikorsky Unveils Nomad VTOL UAS for Defense and Civilian Applications

Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, has launched the Nomad series of vertical take-off and landing uncrewed aerial systems (UAS), aimed at reconnaissance and light attack missions in challenging environments. The Nomad 100 variant is set for initial flight trials, while advancements include a demonstrator achieving over 40 vertical take-offs and landings and validating advanced control laws. With a weight of approximately 52kg and hybrid-electric propulsion, the Nomad platforms are designed for various applications, including defense and civilian uses, leveraging MATRIX technology for optionally piloted operations.
