Slovenia's Družba za Avtoceste (DARS) has inaugurated its first solar power plant on a noise barrier at the Šmarje Sap West rest area, part of a strategy to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030. The generated electricity will support DARS's operations, including public lighting and tunnel systems, while plans for further solar projects are underway. This initiative aligns with similar efforts in neighboring countries and marks the beginning of DARS's commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
