SMWDC Discusses Lessons from Red Sea Combat and Advancements in Unmanned Systems

Rear Adm. T.J. Zerr of the Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) emphasized lessons from recent Red Sea combat, particularly the importance of rapid information processing and tactical training.

The center has initiated advanced SWATT exercises and the Surface Warfare Combat Training Continuum to enhance fleet readiness and warfighting proficiency. Additionally, SMWDC is focusing on the development of unmanned systems and the need for swift capability delivery in collaboration with industry and acquisition sectors.
