Solidion Technology has secured a grant from the U.S. Army's STTR Program to develop a fiber-based electronic battery system in collaboration with the University of Texas at Dallas. The innovative technology features a flexible, rechargeable lithium-ion battery utilizing coaxial carbon nanotube yarn as the anode core, with integrated silicon for enhanced capacity. This grant represents Solidion's third federal funding in six months, following previous support for research on biomass-derived graphite and carbon-nanosphere materials.
