South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) is intensifying efforts to develop defense-grade semiconductors to reduce dependence on foreign supply chains, which could hinder weapons deployment and arms export competitiveness. A task force was established to create a Defense Semiconductor Center, focusing on project planning and certification, with several R&D projects already in progress.
