In 2025, a South Korean public corporation introduced the Flir GF77a optical gas imaging camera for methane leak monitoring at the Boryeong LNG Terminal. This solution integrates AI for plume detection, improving leak monitoring in outdoor, unmanned environments. Following a successful trial with intentional methane release, the system was installed alongside existing CCTV infrastructure to enhance surveillance and reduce installation complexity.
