Space Force's RCO Delays RFP for Agile Space Capabilities Due to SBIR Funding Issues in 2026 NDAA

The Space Force's Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO) is preparing a request for proposals (RFP) for agile space capabilities, which is currently delayed due to uncertainties regarding Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding in the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). RCO Director Kelly Hammett stated on December 11 that the existing NDAA does not renew SBIR and small business technology transfer (STTR) authorities for 2026, affecting the RCO's plans.
