Sudan's Burhan Calls for Neutralization of RSF to Achieve Peace, Proposes Turkey as Mediator

Sudan's Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdulfattah al-Burhan emphasized that lasting peace is unattainable without neutralizing the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), citing the severe consequences of ongoing conflicts since April 2023. In an interview, he proposed Turkey as a mediator, although this suggestion was met with resistance from some parties, and he expressed distrust towards the UAE for allegedly supporting the RSF. Burhan also noted that the Sudanese army has been restructured and is now militarily superior.
