Tajikistan Advances Hydropower Projects to Enhance Energy Security and Attract Investment

Tajikistan is focusing on hydropower projects to improve energy security and economic growth, attracting international investments. Recent discussions with UAE's 40 Capital will explore investment in small hydropower plants.
The Sebzor HPP, with an 11 MW capacity, generates over 76 million kWh annually, funded by Germany and the EU. The Rogun HPP, the largest in Central Asia at 3,600 MW, has secured a $50 million loan from the Qatar Fund for Development. The country aims to harmonize energy systems with Kazakhstan for enhanced exports and food security.
