Tehachapi Planning Commission Approves Housing Project Amid Water District Dispute

DEFENSE

The Tehachapi Planning Commission approved a housing project comprising 96 units despite objections from TCCWD General Manager Tom Neisler, who cited outdated environmental documents. The project, originally entitled in 2005 and recently approved in 2022, has backing from the local defense industry. The commission also passed a resolution for a new Cerro Coso Community College campus, which TCCWD supports, amid ongoing mediation and litigation between the city and the water district regarding another housing project.
