Thai Military Revamps 2027 Arms Plan with Expanded Drone Capabilities Amid Border Tensions
DEFENSE
The Thai military is revamping its 2027 arms plan to enhance drone capabilities amid rising border tensions, particularly with Cambodia. This initiative includes a four-phase development framework, with a UAS warfare center set to become operational from October 2025, and improvements across the Army, Navy, and Air Force to integrate unmanned systems into national defense. Additionally, the National Security Council is establishing a committee to manage unmanned aircraft operations in the country.
