Thailand Discovers Chinese GAM-102LR Anti-Tank Missiles Used by Cambodian Forces
Thailand and Cambodia are engaged in armed conflict along their border, highlighted by the discovery of GAM-102LR anti-tank missiles abandoned by Cambodian troops at Hill 677. The GAM-102LR, a fifth-generation multi-purpose ultra long-range missile, is also operated by Thailand, which maintains close ties with China.
It is part of the GAM-10X missile family produced by China's Norinco, marketed internationally by Poly Defense. The missile's design allows for modular launching from various platforms, including light combat vehicles, attack helicopters, and drones.
It features innovative guidance systems, including a Dual Seeker that combines imaging infrared and millimeter wave radar for all-weather target tracking. The GAM-102LR can reach targets up to 10 kilometers away and is equipped with Tandem High-Explosive Anti-Tank warheads designed to defeat modern explosive reactive armor.
