Tripura-Mizoram Gas Pipeline Project to be Completed by 2027, Connecting Aizawl

The Tripura-Mizoram gas pipeline project is expected to be completed by 2027, with 119.5 km of pipeline being laid from Panisagar in Tripura to Sihhmui near Aizawl. Currently, over 20% of the construction is complete.

This project will provide piped gas supply to Mizoram, particularly benefiting residents of Aizawl. Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL) is implementing the project, which is part of the North East Natural Gas Pipeline Grid.

The pipeline will originate from the Panisagar Receiving Terminal, passing through Kanhmun, Zawlnuam, Kawrthah, Tuidam, and Darlak before reaching Mamit and then proceeding to Lengte and the Sihhmui Receiving Terminal, about 21 km from Aizawl. Tripura Natural Gas Corp Ltd will provide domestic gas connections within Aizawl city.
