Two biomethane plants are proposed in Cootehill, Co Cavan, with Stream BioEnergy Ireland planning a large-scale anaerobic digestion facility to process 99,000 tons of organic waste annually, producing enough biomethane for 11,000 homes. Meanwhile, CycleØ is set to submit an application for its fourth AD plant, processing 90,000 tons of feedstock, as part of a €100 million investment in Ireland, although a local action group has emerged to oppose the plans.
