The UK Space Agency is funding GMV's development of a secure two-way satellite time and frequency transfer system as part of the European Space Agency's TOUCAN project, which aims to bolster the UK's positioning, navigation, and timing capabilities. This initiative will enhance the UK's resilience in delivering secure PNT services for critical infrastructure and defense, while reducing reliance on GNSS through a reliable link between the eLoran transmitter and the National Physical Laboratory. Project partner Viasat is contributing satellite bandwidth and technology analysis to support the effort.
