Ukraine Launches Drone Strikes on Russian Oil Infrastructure Amid Escalating Conflict
Ukraine escalated its conflict with Russia through extensive drone attacks targeting Russian oil facilities, including the Alpha Oil base in Uryupinsk and the Slavneft-YANOS refinery in Yaroslavl. These strikes aim to disrupt Russia's military and economic capabilities, leading to evacuations in Uryupinsk due to fires caused by drone debris.
The Yaroslavl refinery, processing 15 million tons of crude oil annually, has reportedly suspended production. In retaliation, Ukraine's Air Force intercepted 110 out of 138 Russian drones targeting civilian areas, while Russia claimed to have downed 235 Ukrainian drones. Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi plans to visit Russia and Belarus to strengthen bilateral relations, amidst ongoing tensions in the Palestinian territories and unrest in the Gaza Strip.
