Ukraine's Brave1 defense innovation cluster has initiated a national competition for students to create a payload for FPV drones that enables perching while on standby. The initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Education and Science, is part of the 'Brave Students' track, supported by the EU4UA Defence Tech program.

Project submissions are due mid-February, with winners receiving a prize fund of 90,000 hryvnias. Separately, the EU plans to accelerate drone production and establish counter-drone research initiatives.
