Ukraine's UASAT LEO project is set to launch its first satellite, UASAT-NANO, in October 2026, aimed at establishing a sovereign communications network to reduce reliance on foreign operators. The initiative, supported by the Ukrainian government and the EU, plans to deploy a constellation of 245 satellites and includes the formation of a space policy department within the Ministry of Defense to oversee satellite communications efforts.
