Ukraine's drone procurement has surged dramatically, increasing from 219 million UAH in 2022 to a projected 15.4 billion UAH in 2024, positioning the drone industry as a vital part of the defense sector. An experimental procurement project initiated in March 2023 has led to a permanent procedure by December 2024, aimed at enhancing competition and reducing bureaucracy. With international support, including EU funding for dual-use technologies, Ukraine aims to ramp up production to 20 million UAVs by 2026, contingent on sustainable contracts.
