UN Mission in Central African Republic Advances Security Sector Reform and Capacity Building
DEFENSE
The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) is advancing security sector reform through initiatives like the National Border Management Policy and the drafting of the Military Programming Law. These efforts, in collaboration with UNPOL and UNDP, aim to enhance the capabilities of the Central African Armed Forces and internal security forces, aligning with the 2019 Peace Agreement to promote oversight and civilian protection. Additionally, the UN Mine Action Service has been improving weapons management since 2014, further supporting the restoration of state authority.
