UNDP Partners with Australia for Three Additional Solar Energy Centres in Jamaica

SOLAR ENERGY

The UNDP, in partnership with the Government of Australia, is investing JMD 9.2 million to establish three solar-powered community centres in Jamaica's fishing communities affected by Hurricane Melissa. This brings the total to five centres with plans for more.

The centres will provide cold storage, internet, and charging stations, benefiting over 300 fishers. The initiative aims to support livelihoods, enhance food security, and promote sustainable development in vulnerable communities.
