Universal Quantum Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Atlas Copco Group to co-develop integrated vacuum system solutions for utility scale quantum computers. This partnership aligns Universal Quantum's modular silicon-based trapped ion architecture with Atlas Copco's expertise in vacuum and cryogenic technologies.

The collaboration aims to create a vacuum platform essential for scaling quantum systems, ensuring long-term stability and reliability. Under the agreement, Atlas Copco will leverage its Scientific Vacuum Division's capabilities to support the development of vacuum environments crucial for operating multiple trapped ion modules synchronously. The initiative is set to enhance the commercialization of quantum computing technologies in the UK and Europe.
