University of Montana Secures $6.3M in Grants for Pilot Motion Sickness Research

DEFENSE

The University of Montana has secured $6.3 million in grants, including a $4.8 million award from the U.S. Office of Naval Research and a $1.5 million Department of Defense grant, to research motion sickness in Navy pilots and support military personnel with traumatic brain injuries.

The study aims to also assist individuals experiencing balance issues. Despite a decline in federal proposals, UM reported $149.9 million in expenditures for fiscal year 2025.
