University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Joins Southeastern Quantum Collaborative for Military and Space Research

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has joined the Southeastern Quantum Collaborative to enhance quantum research for military and space applications, alongside founding members like IBM and Alabama A&M University. With over $11.1 million invested in quantum research and a partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, UTC is set to launch a Bachelor of Science in quantum physics in fall 2024 and is developing a Ph.D. program in quantum science. The collaborative aims to leverage regional defense infrastructure to advance practical applications of quantum information science.
