US Antimony Supply Crisis Drives ASX Explorers to Focus on Domestic Projects

DEFENSE

The US faces a significant antimony supply crisis due to rising demand in defense and solar industries, zero domestic production, and heavy reliance on imports, primarily from China. In response, the US government has revitalized stockpiling and funding programs for antimony projects, engaging earlier with explorers who can demonstrate viable production pathways.

The United States Antimony Corporation (USACO) secured a $245 million contract to supply antimony for defense needs. ASX-listed companies like Pinnacle Minerals, Felix Gold, and Resolution Minerals are positioning themselves in historical antimony districts in the US.

Notably, Pinnacle Minerals is validating its Antimony Queen asset, Felix Gold has discovered high-grade veins in Alaska, and Resolution Minerals is adjacent to a significant antimony reserve. Other companies, including Red Mountain Mining and Locksley Resources, are expanding their projects and staking claims to enhance domestic antimony production capabilities.
