The U.S. Army and NORAD have launched the Athena Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS), which has achieved initial operating capability after seven years of development. This system enhances the ability to detect and respond to unmanned aerial threats in the National Capital Region, providing a fused air picture for improved command-and-control. Overseen by CONR-1AF, the Athena system aims to bolster airspace security across North America.
