The U.S. Army has approved the XM204 terrain-shaping munition for Urgent Materiel Release, fielding it in Europe on December 4, 2025. Developed with Textron Systems, the XM204 is designed for top-attack operations and autonomously deploys submunitions to counter enemy vehicles, featuring safety measures to reduce post-conflict risks. Training for its use was conducted with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Germany, supported by the Joint Multinational Readiness Center.
