DEFENSE
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District and Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission are initiating a feasibility study for flood risk management in the Chartiers Creek watershed. The study, authorized by the 2022 Water Resources and Development Act, aims to evaluate flood-control solutions for the 277 square-mile area affecting over 250,000 residents.
Col. Nicholas Melin will sign a cost-share agreement to conduct the study, which aligns with the Army's initiative to enhance infrastructure delivery.
