The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has launched the River Analysis System (RAS) 2025, an upgraded software designed to enhance river modeling capabilities, including faster processing and improved meshing.

Currently in Alpha version, RAS 2025 is set to replace the previous HEC-RAS 6.6, with a focus on user-friendly features and GIS compatibility for better floodplain mapping and water infrastructure analysis. Initial training sessions have been well-received, and further updates are anticipated in 2026.
