U.S. Army Critiques Contractor Dependency for MQ-1C Gray Eagle Operations
DEFENSE
The U.S. Army is urged to reduce its reliance on contractors for MQ-1C Gray Eagle support, according to Chief Warrant Officer-4 Javi Rivas. Speaking at a military conference, he highlighted the need for faster operational readiness as the Army prepares for large-scale combat operations against peer adversaries.
Current contractor agreements hinder the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment's ability to perform repairs and set up necessary equipment. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. plans to address these concerns in future designs.
