U.S. Army Orders Nine UH-60M and HH-60M Helicopters in $433.2 Million Contract with Sikorsky
The U.S. Army has ordered nine UH-60M and HH-60M Black Hawk helicopters from Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, in a $433.2 million deal, increasing the total contract value to $4.7 billion. The UH-60M serves as a modern medium-lift helicopter designed for extreme conditions, replacing the older UH-60A model.
The HH-60M variant is configured for medical evacuations and is equipped with advanced medical systems. Both helicopter models feature enhanced avionics, including GPS/INS navigation, an integrated digital cockpit, and advanced sensors for situational awareness and rescue missions. Sikorsky has been in full-rate production of the UH-60M since 2007, with delivery of the helicopters expected to be completed by December 2027.
