The U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) has launched the Advanced Capabilities Directorate (ACD) to promote innovation and expedite procurement in modern warfare. Led by Lt.

Col. Armand L. Balboni, the ACD will support the upcoming African Lion 2026 exercise, testing over 45 technologies, including unmanned systems, with the goal of enhancing operational effectiveness in the field.
