US Army to Inactivate TRADOC and Merge with Army Futures Command to Form New Command in Texas

On September 26, 2025, the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) was inactivated after 52 years as part of a merger with Army Futures Command, aimed at streamlining operations. The new entity, named the Army Transformation and Training Command, will be based in Austin, Texas, and will oversee soldier training, education, and development. A ceremony commemorating TRADOC's inactivation took place on September 25.
