U.S. Army Unveils Dark Eagle LRHW Hypersonic Missile System Ahead of Operational Deployment

The U.S. Army has revealed images of the Dark Eagle Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW), the first operational hypersonic missile system. Designed for non-nuclear, ground-launched use, it bridges conventional long-range fires and strategic strikes.
The LRHW, which has an operational range exceeding 2,700 km and speeds potentially reaching Mach 17, features advanced guidance systems and is intended to engage high-value targets. The system is set for deployment in Australia in August 2025, enhancing U.S. capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region.
