US Awards General Atomics $14.3 Million for Italian Air Force MQ-9 UAS Support

DEFENSE

The US has awarded General Atomics Aeronautical Systems a $14.3 million contract modification to support the Italian Air Force's MQ-9 Unmanned Aerial System fleet. This contract, which includes logistics support and software maintenance, will be executed in Poway, California, Italy, and Kuwait, with work expected to conclude by January 31, 2027. The Italian Air Force has operated MQ-9 aircraft for over a decade, benefiting from various US-approved upgrades.
