DEFENSE
The U.S. Department of Defense has invested $18.5 million in Lattice Materials, which is constructing an 80,000-square-foot facility in Bozeman, Montana, to double its crystal growth capacity for silicon and germanium used in military applications. This project is expected to create 50 jobs over three years and strengthen domestic supply chains for critical infrared products, supporting U.S. defense capabilities while reducing reliance on foreign sources.
