US DFC Reauthorization Expands Capacity and Tools for Global Connectivity Finance
DEFENSE
The US Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has been reauthorized as part of the FY2026 National Defense Authorization Act, significantly increasing its investment capacity from $60 billion to $205 billion. This aims to enhance connectivity projects worldwide, particularly in high-risk areas.
The reauthorization allows DFC to operate in more countries, emphasizes catalytic investments, and introduces a $5 billion equity revolving fund. However, challenges remain regarding bureaucratic processes and the need for sector-specific expertise.
