The U.S. Navy has awarded Saronic a $392 million contract to develop Corsair-class Autonomous Surface Vessels, which are 24-foot drone boats with a range of 1000 nautical miles, a payload capacity of 1000 pounds, and speeds over 35 knots.

This initiative aims to enhance maritime surveillance and reduce risks to personnel, marking a significant step in the Navy's strategy to integrate unmanned systems into its fleet. Approximately $200 million of the contract is already allocated, facilitating rapid deployment from prototype to operational status.
