U.S. Navy Establishes Mariner Skills Training Centers in California and Virginia

The U.S. Navy has launched the Mariner Skills Training Centers (MSTCs) in San Diego, CA, and Norfolk, VA, to enhance Surface Warfare Officers' training. Established on October 1, 2020, these centers aim to improve seamanship and navigation skills following critical reviews after the USS Fitzgerald and USS John S.
McCain incidents. The MSTCs offer over 800 hours of simulator training, advanced technology, and standardized courses, ensuring Sailors are well-prepared for maritime challenges.
