U.S. Navy Invests Over $166 Million in Engineering Test Facility for Trident II D5LE2 in Florida

The U.S. Navy has commenced construction of a 12,100 m² Engineering Test Facility at Cape Canaveral, Florida, as part of a $166 million investment to enhance testing and modernization of the Trident II D5LE2 missile system.
The facility, featuring eight laboratories and nine heavy-lift cranes, aims to streamline prototyping, assembly, and testing, with expected completion in January 2028. This project is part of a broader strategy involving 28 construction projects planned by the Navy through 2032 to support strategic deterrence capabilities.
