The U.S. Space Force activated the U.S. Space Forces Northern Command at Peterson Space Force Base on January 30, enhancing homeland defense capabilities through improved domain awareness, missile tracking, and satellite communications.

This marks the seventh activation of a Space Force service component since November 2020, with General Gregory Guillot highlighting the need for these capabilities in response to growing threats.
