USC Signs Contract with Russian Defense Ministry for Lada Submarine Production
The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry to build Project 677M Lada diesel-electric submarines at Admiralty Shipyards. USC Director General Andrey Puchkov announced that the construction continues with the delivery of a third submarine to the Navy and two more submarines recently undocked.
The contract signifies a move to serial production of Lada-class submarines, bolstered by effective collaboration between designers, shipbuilders, and the Navy. Puchkov emphasized the need for modernization and technological development of USC's enterprises to enhance capacity for building both military and civilian vessels.
